[Next Patch coming soon / working on a new version - hopefully finished at the end of october]

Grow your Island! A small idle incremental game with a simple character!

You can wishlist it on Steam! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3952030/Grow_Idle_Land/

New Updates:

- (New Gameplay Loop) You can explore the world down there and find upgrades there

- Some bugs fixed, better UI, Audio Settings etc.

Attention!

- If the web version doesn't open as browser pop-up, you might need to zoom in/out in your browser or go Fullscreen (bottom right)

- if you get stuck in collision somewhere, use the "teleport" button in the bottom left

- minor visual bugs in the web version (for example walking straight up/down) - recommended to play the downloadable version

- might encounter smaller lags when loading for the first time

- Better graphics and experience with the download version

It's a small game, made in about 1-2 weeks.

The numbers are not crazy high, so you will be finished in around 5mins. The Goal is to grow your island until you can reach the treasure!

Hope you like it ^^

I think this is a pretty good concept for a game. While the 3D mode is interesting, it lacks some stuff. One is the sensibility issue which was explained by hugomania and the other is go home. The other issue was that while you were exploring I kept failing to get the tree because I had to delock my mouse, find my mouse, then click the button and I would prefer it be like a keyboard button like E if you don't plan to use it someplace else in the exploration. I think there needs to be some type of balance probably but as this currently seems to be showing all the features and gameplay, I think its fine for now but its way too fast unless you want fast exponential type gameplay. Theres also some interesting visual stuff in the main islands(not exploration) where it shows some house floating at the bottom along with some cloud. The desert sand texture might needs to be improved on as it looks like cheese and the minecraft png's but I like all the other graphical things. The music is pretty good. The good things(might have already stated):music, graphical design(and lighting/shadow), pretty unique gameplay, and that gives some hint at future gameplay which is pretty nice. The one thing I would prefer if you don't have prestige or even if you have prestige is that you allow people to be added or removed instead of being forced to be at one job. This is pure preference as it allows more freedom in placement of stuff. Good game overall so far.

Hey! First of all thank you for a detailed feedback! Means a lot that you took your time and it is also an encouraging and motivating feeling to see that someone cares ^^

1. Yes - The first person view felt like a cool idea, but especially in web at has some problems. Maybe I will include it later, maybe I will drop it. Not sure yet. Sometimes giving a limitation is a better choice than trying to do everything.

2. I'm also actually working on 3D Pixel Art, so hopefully when I drop the next bigger version of the game, it will look better and not like cheese :D Trying to be finished end of this month with a small playable version to test.

3. And yes - I also thought about removing workers and switching them if needed, but I also need to do some tweeking with the numbers or implement additional ways to recruit workers. I also saw one approach where you can go to "new game+" with meta progression and then you have another chance to place the workers in a different way. Both seem fun :)

Improve mouse sensitivity, it's set way too low, add a setting to it as well.

The box showing what tools you have cover the volume controls.

The perspective change locks the camera moving up unless the game is fullscreen.

Hey! Thank you for the big feedback! I'm working on a bigger version / patch! Luckily these settings are quite easy to implement. Will do it!

And the box with tools covering the volume controls. How could I miss that???

But what do you mean with the perspective? You mean for web right? When I use firefox I have a small "mouse drift" when not in fullscreen. With microsoft edge it works fine for me.

The drift on firefox is very large and add to that the low sensitivity and it's impossible to win over the drift.
Making the game go fullscreen removes the drift entirely.

It is strange how one browser works fine, another one not (except with fullscreen) - Hopefully I find a fix for it :')

Hey! Thanks for the feedback! I will add a bit more instructions, so it is clear what to do. I'm sure you are not the only one, who didn't understand it in the beginning, but most people just leave and don't leave any feedback, so I really appreciate your comment!

"go home" button doesn't work when you're at the foot of the ladder. Also, music keeps coming unmuted, and there's nothing to mute sound effects.

Hey! Like you can't go back to the sky island or you mean the hitbox is a bit janky? I will look into it! And yeah I noticed it now as well. When you switch between sky island and the exploring the world down there, the music comes back. I will fix that :D And with the next patch I will put a setting for the SFX sounds. Thank you for the feedback and playing it!

I can't go back to the sky island. I have to wait for the timer to finish ticking down (which drops the tree from my inventory).

Thats so strange. Can you maybe share a screenshot? I did patch it today and with my browser it works...

Seems to be working now. Thanks for the patch (and the volume controls)!

Great! And of course! I like to keep the game updated as much as possible and gather feedback, so I appreciate you playing it! :)

Cool game, i loved design. But i got stuck in this corner somehow and couldn't not move anymore =(

Nooooo - strange that there is collision to get stuck on. Thank you for telling me. I will patch it tonight or tomorrow with new content as well and then that will be fixed. For now there is another "solution": bottom left the button with "teleport" brings to back to the middle of the island.

Really fun and cute little game. I would give the option to hide max upgrades though. I didn't realize at first that you could use the Workers on the farm which led to me doing the first 2 expansions of food entirely myself. If the maxxed upgrade was hidden I would've noticed that there's more you can do with the farm than the first 2 upgrades. Although my being dumb also played a large part in that

Thank you for playing! I didn't think about that! Great suggestion! Yes I will add that and maybe also widen a little the UI, so you can see it better and realize there are more options now! I think end of the week I will have it updated with some new content ^^

when you get to the point where theres an upper platform with a blue slime if you try to walk up the little ramp to him at an angle you get stuck and softlocke.

Found a fix by going into first person.

Yes it's strange. Once I was stuck as well, but I couldn't reproduce it. But I will fix it. I also added the "teleport" button just for those cases, so you could reset your spot :D but greatly appreciate your feedback! I'm working on the next Patch already, should be coming end of the week!

perfect game so far, and thanks for being a dev that actually responds to feedback and problem

Glady ^^ It's really a pleasure to see people playing your game and taking the time to give constructive feedback :)

It took me a good minute to realise that to actually get anything at the start, you need to stand next to the cube with the heart and hold E. Maybe a little note somewhere to make this more obvious (or maybe I am particularly stupid :))

First - Thanks for playing! I actually even included a little text on the right ^^ With the next patches I will make it even a little bit clearer and add a super small mini tutorial :)

good game

Thank you! I try to update this game in the end of the week!

fun little game, i wanted to keep adding workers to the heart area, but nothing allowed me to do that might be good to add a way to make that possible? I like where its going tho!

In this little version I kept the amount of workers at 20, but I will try to update the game in the end of week and you will definitely be able to add more workers! :D

Looks like an interesting prototype.  I'm curious where you'll end up taking this once it gets farther along.  I was hoping to see some of the other areas, but I guess those aren't ready yet.

Just an idea - since workers seem like a finite resource, it might be good to be able to move them off of one resource and to another.  I ended up with 15 on wood and only 5 on the heart, so it took longer than it probably should have to expand the world.  It's your game, though, so have fun with it!

Thanks for your feedback! Yes I also thought about it or some way to reset them, but only for the prototype I limited it to 20 workers. I will work on it and patch it here on a regular basis and I will fix that PLUS new content and areas with actual stuff to do :D

A small idle incremental game with a simple character....and an excruciating CPU-Usage. Which coin are you mining? ;)

Is it that taxing? Hope the web version is at least not as taxing. When I check my CPU it seems fine. Only RAM is a little bit high, but that is also with my other game... hmm... need to look into optimization :D

Well it WAS the web version, but i started the game just right now and this time the cpu usage is quite fine. So if you didn´t update the game already, maybe it was just a coincidence and not your fault at all :)

Definitely strange since I didn't change anything yet :D Maybe I will find some answers one day in the documentation and why these things could happen :D Or it was just pure bad luck haha

changing my pcs volume moves the character

and i dont see any probems with the web version in shows me the whole thing no zoom in required

that is strange :D Funny how many small issues and bugs can arise.

And yes it should be fixed. I messed up some settings in the resolutions :D

that wasnt like a bad thing htat needs to be fixed it was just a fun little thing i noticed while turning off the audio since im a muslim

muslims cant listen to music

and i couldnt find a music volume slider thing so i just muted the game

also tf do i do

i grew my thing twice and got max charachter and a bunch of wooders and now i have like 50k wood and idk what to do

I update the description so the "Goal" is more clear. The game is at the moment just a little fun prototype of mine with no real goal and after you unlocked the key and grow your island the third time, you basically reached all areas, even though there is nothing to do there yet :D

Downloaded version won't load, web page version only shows the lower left portion of the screen.  I guess maybe I'll check back after the initial bug fixes.

you need to zoom in in the browser version to see everything. but yes its a bug

Sorry! I'll fix both issues as soon as I can. When it's fixed, I post another comment, so you'll get notified!

The browser issue should be fixed by now! The download version not sure what the problem is. I tried to download it and it starts normally, but surely I will find the reason sooner or later :D

perhaps its a client side issue?

its zoomed in so I cant tell what to do.

oh no sorry! In my browser or the downloaded version it all works. I will look into it and fix it ASAP

Literally nothing to do, what the hell?

Yes it is a very short idle game, like I wrote in the description :D I might add more depth in the upcoming weeks
